Taichi is Ichigo and Raichi's father and Ringo's husband. He's an explorer who travels the world hunting down foods nobody's ever seen before, driven by a genuine desire to bring happiness to people through his discoveries. He's generally honest and keeps his word, but there's something oddly suspicious about the travel stories he tells his kids—though Ichigo and Raichi never seem to question whether he's actually making it all up.
Like his wife, Taichi has some kind of history with Starlight Academy's president, Orihime Mitsuishi. He's casual enough with her to call her "Hime-chan," which hints at a familiarity from way back. There's also a chance he knows more about Masquerade than he lets on.
