He's got a narcissistic streak and comes across as pretty arrogant, with a heavy dose of sarcasm in how he talks. Much like Kaminaga, he spends a lot of time working overseas. When he first meets Sakuma, he's openly bitter toward him—partly because he's stuck on some rigid ideas about the military. That hostility doesn't last, though. After their first mission together, his attitude shifts noticeably. Johan's pointed out that beneath all the ego and attitude, he's actually got a striking appearance.
