Bayonetta is a witch who fights with an arsenal of firearms and magic channeled through her own hair—she can summon demons to tear apart her enemies. What makes her stand out is her shapeshifting ability, which she uses both in and out of combat.
She wakes up from a 500-year sleep with complete amnesia, confused and disoriented in a place she doesn't recognize. Gradually, fragmented memories start coming back to her, triggered by flashbacks that piece together what led to her long disappearance. She's carrying an ornate piece of jewelry embedded with a small red gem, which she's convinced is the Left Eye of the Eyes of the World. The search for its counterpart, the Right Eye, becomes her driving quest—and along the way, those flashbacks keep revealing more of her forgotten past.
