Shoseki works as an apprentice under the tool maker Iou, helping out in the workshop. He's known for complaining about how demanding the job is. There's one incident where he accidentally sold a couple of ninja tools that Iou had made—Tsuru-Kame and Dako—to two customers named Gameru and Kusune, supposedly to boost their budget at the time.
