Forrest is Brock's younger brother and the second-oldest of Flint and Lola's kids. He took over running the Pewter Gym after Brock came back from Johto to find their mom had basically commandeered it with her water-type team. To help Forrest get the hang of things, Brock left him his prized Onix—and Forrest clearly did right by it, since the Pokémon eventually evolved into Steelix under his care.
