Yagyu Muneakira

The protagonist and someone fans often describe as a samurai with genuine noble spirit. Muneakira—or just "Mune"—is a master of Shinkage-ryu swordsmanship and deeply committed to inheriting the Yagyu Dojo as its next master. The Yagyu family has been the Tokugawa clan's sword instructors for centuries, and keeping that legacy alive is his main goal.
Officially representing the Tokugawa clan, Mune recently enrolled at Buou Academic School, an elite institution for warrior students groomed to become Japan's future leaders. He settled in expecting the usual challenges of a swordsman's education. Instead, he walked into complications—particularly two persistent ones that seem determined to follow him around everywhere.
His swordwork is exceptional, and he's known a childhood friend in Sen Tokugawa for years. Between his family's expectations, school obligations, and whatever trouble keeps landing on his doorstep, Mune's got his hands full.
