Toshiki Miyamizu is Mitsuha and Yotsuha's father, though he's largely absent from their lives. After his wife Futaba died, he essentially turned his back on the family shrine and everything it stood for, choosing politics instead. He's been the mayor of Itomori since around 2009, and by 2013 he'd already been in office for four years. Basically, he's a busy guy who chose a different path than what his family expected.
