Yuuto's the type of kid who gets competitive way too easily. After seeing Sakamoto pull off this impossibly cool rock kick, he becomes totally fixated on the guy. The next day when Yuuto spots him playing that "walk a line" game—you know, where you try to balance on a thin surface—something just clicks. There's no way he's losing to some high schooler, so Yuuto and his buddies basically tail Sakamoto for the rest of the day, determined to outdo him at his own game.
By the end of their impromptu stalking mission, Yuuto's so caught up in the rivalry that he straight-up asks Sakamoto for his autograph. It's that mix of admiration and stubborn pride that defines his whole dynamic with the guy—he wants to beat him, sure, but he also kind of idolizes him. His friends follow his lead (hence the "Leader" nickname), making him the one who actually drives the whole encounter forward.
