Sawako's the kind of person who wants friends more than anything, but life hasn't made it easy for her. She's got an unfortunate resemblance to Sadako from horror movies, and her quiet nature means she rarely corrects people when they get things wrong—which is why half the school genuinely thinks her name is Sadako. That whole situation probably would've stayed the same forever if Kazehaya hadn't come along with his natural kindness and openness. With his help, she slowly started talking to people and actually became part of a friend group.
Yano and Yoshida were crucial in bringing her out of her shell too, and she eventually ended up genuinely close with all three of them plus Ryu. There's this running joke where Yano and Yoshida both agree that Sawako's feelings for Kazehaya run deeper than even their own crushes on him—she's got it bad.
She's on the shorter side, partly because her dad is too, but she's deceptively quick. Nobody expected that until the school sports festival when she showed off some serious speed during a soccer game. Her mom gave her the lips and figure, but most everything else came from her dad's side.
