Dorian runs an unofficial Pokémon gym on the coast south of Blackthorn City, where he's become known for putting on synchronized swimming performances with his Water-type team. He's basically a huge fan of the Sensational Sisters—Daisy, Violet, and Lily—and their style clearly influences his whole approach to training and battling.
The guy's got a bit of a reputation for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. When he made a comment that Lily was prettier than Misty, she absolutely lost it. But Dorian managed to win Misty over eventually. After he beat Ash in a battle, he got to see Misty's Psyduck pull off an incredibly strong Confusion attack, and he came away respecting her skills as a trainer.
