Gamatatsu is one of Gamabunta's kids and Gamakichi's younger brother. He's best known for being completely obsessed with snacks—like, to an almost comedic degree. He famously complained about waiting for Naruto to recover from his fight with Kabuto, griping that he was hungry and asking when they could finally get food. That said, the filler episodes suggest he actually does care about Naruto, since he was ready to jump in and help before Gamakichi talked him down.
Despite coming across as naive and pretty dim, Gamatatsu's surprisingly useful sometimes. He's curious enough to help Naruto figure things out—he even helped solve the whole Ghost Warrior mystery. His snack addiction runs deep enough that he literally waited a full year after his first summoning for a promised snack that never came. He's constantly hungry and bugging whoever summons him for food, which usually gets him into weird situations he has to rely on his big brother Gamakichi to bail him out of.
What's interesting is that fans often note Gamatatsu comes off as the most loyal and willing of the main frog summons. He was genuinely ready to serve Naruto without complaint until Gamakichi brought up the snack thing. In the English dub, his voice is deliberately high and goofy, played entirely for laughs. He also casually calls Gamabunta "daddy," which the old toad either ignores or just doesn't care about.
