Kuroobi is a ray-type fish-man and one of Arlong's crew's most disciplined members. He's never fully trusted Nami, always suspicious of where her real loyalties lay. His main fighting style is Fish-Man Karate, which he uses effectively in combat.
During the Arlong arc battle with the Straw Hats, Kuroobi goes up against Sanji. At first, he has the upper hand—especially when Sanji dives underwater to rescue Luffy, giving the fish-man his natural advantage in that environment. But Sanji figures out a clever counter: he breathes the air directly from Kuroobi's gills, basically suffocating him by cutting off his oxygen. Once Kuroobi's forced onto dry land and weakened, Sanji finishes him off with a barrage of kicks.
