Xanxus leads the Varia, Vongola's assassination squad, and is the adopted son of Vongola IX. He's best known for wielding Wrath Flames—the same dying will flames as Vongola's second boss—and fighting with dying will guns like the seventh boss did. What's notable is that he could use Wrath Flames since childhood, which only added to his already impressive natural talent. His mother, struggling with mental illness, became convinced he was actually Timoteo's biological son because of this ability. After she confronted Timoteo about it, Xanxus was formally adopted into the Vongola family and treated as Timoteo's genuine child.
Growing up with that kind of status went to his head—he became arrogant, vain, and self-centered, traits that basically never left him throughout the series.
Physically, Xanxus has a pretty distinctive look. His face is covered in scars, he sports spiky hair, and he wears the Varia uniform jacket draped over his shoulders. The jacket is decked out with feathers and a raccoon tail that drapes from the nape of his neck down over his left shoulder.
