Ranger Mason is a Pokémon Ranger stationed at a preserve on Mt. Silver, best known for her appearance in "Mother of All Battles." She's dedicated to protecting the Pokémon there—a mission that became personal after the Poacher Brothers stole a Larvitar egg from the preserve and critically injured its mother, Tyranitar.
When Ash and his friends pass through, Mason recruits them to help track down the poachers once and for all. Together they manage to capture the brothers and reunite Larvitar with its wounded mother. Mason's grateful for their help, and the group heads off toward the Silver Conference.
The story doesn't quite end there. A few episodes later in "Tie One On!," Professor Elm gives Ash an update from Mason—both Larvitar and Tyranitar are doing well and recovering at the preserve.
