VesVes (Besu Besu in the dub) is the loud, aggressive red-haired member of the Quartet—the circus's animal tamer, officially known as the Magician of Beasts. She's brash and quick to violence, and she carries a whip. Her Senshi counterpart is Sailor Mars, and red is her signature color.
According to Takeuchi's notes, VesVes is a "Queen" with noticeably darker skin than her sister JunJun. In the manga, she's revealed to be Sailor Vesta, named after both the asteroid and the Roman goddess. She's technically the youngest of the four sisters, which aligns with her asteroid's size and designation—though the anime bumps her up to second-oldest instead.
The anime version of VesVes has a loose grip on reality. She'll barrel into situations without thinking them through; there's a memorable moment where she literally shows up to confront her target while floating on a magical ball in a flight suit, somehow not realizing how absurd that looks until Chibiusa and the target spell it out for her. Unlike the other Quartet members, she's also way less picky about who she targets. When she summons lemures to do her bidding, she tends to go for animal-themed ones.
