Orson is a character from "A Relay in the Sky!" who came back to defend his title in the Pokémon Sky Relay. He brought three Pokémon to the competition—a Starly, Staraptor, and Staravia—and ran a strategic race, keeping his team mostly in second position throughout.
By the time things got serious in the third leg, Team Rocket's interference had whittled the field down to just Orson's Starly and Ash's Noibat. The two faced off while flying through a valley with brutal wind currents. Noibat got caught and blown off course, but Orson had his Starly well-trained for exactly this kind of challenge. He had Starly fold its wings and dive straight through the gusts, avoiding the worst of it.
Noibat managed to recover and catch back up though, which set up a thrilling final sprint to the finish line. In the end, Starly pulled ahead by just a nose length, securing Orson the victory and back-to-back titles.
