The landlady is Jahy's landlord in the human world, and she's basically the opposite of sympathetic. She owns the house Jahy rents from and will absolutely resort to violence to collect what's owed—no hesitation. Unlike her sister, the store manager, she's got zero patience for Jahy's excuses and won't think twice about throwing her out on the street if rent goes unpaid. She's willing to torture Jahy for money, and she's not buying any of Jahy's lies or terrible acting either.
That said, the landlady has one major weakness: she's terrified of her sister. Jahy's figured this out and exploits it shamelessly. Just dropping the store manager's name is enough to completely flip the landlady's switch—suddenly she becomes docile and way more accommodating. It's one of Jahy's more reliable survival tactics.
