Shoutarou's introduction to rhythmic gymnastics came by chance during the summer before his high school entrance exams. He caught a performance by Ao High School's Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics Club while still in his third year of junior high, and he was hooked. The experience convinced him to enroll at Ao High School, where he joined the club as a first-year student and newcomer to the sport.
Despite being completely new to rhythmic gymnastics, Shoutarou threw himself into training with the team. He's one of the club's fresh faces, learning alongside other beginners while training under the club's established members and coaches.
