Saya is a young aspiring witch working toward her dream of becoming a full-fledged witch, with plans to take the Witch Apprentice Exam alongside her little sister. She works at an inn in the city—the one place that actually takes in Elaina after she's been turned away from basically everywhere else.
When we first meet her, Saya's magic abilities are pretty rough around the edges. But once Elaina shows up and starts mentoring her, things turn around. With Elaina's guidance, Saya picks up the skills and knowledge she needs to actually pass the Witch Apprentice Exam.
