Arata's one of the popular guys at school—the kind who gets model offers thrown at him constantly. He's actually interested in Kuroe, which catches people off guard, especially since he reveals he's not as into the whole spotlight thing as everyone assumes. Turns out he lost a ton of weight to become the guy people know today, and honestly just wants to step back from all the attention.
Naturally, the other girls at school who are into him lose it. They can't figure out why he'd be interested in Kuroe of all people, and the jealousy gets pretty obvious. What makes things messier is that Arata has no idea Kuroe's secretly a Kaiju—so whenever something weird happens around her, he gets the wrong idea entirely, leading to all kinds of misunderstandings between them.
