Jones is a highly intelligent cat who keeps to himself around other felines. He's best known for an unusual habit: reading books while hanging out in a mall overrun with cats. When a search party showed up looking for a missing family, Jones actually helped them out, even guiding them to two hiding kids in a storage room. The trio brought him home afterward, and their grandma decided to keep him, naming him Jones.
There's strong evidence Jones used to be human. He pawed at a poster to communicate with the trio, and when they asked if he was infected, he managed to paw out "I am"—suggesting he's aware of his situation and can still express himself despite his current form.
Visually, Jones stands out: he's got bright green fur with striped markings, a slender build, and notably large ears. Fans often call him the "alien cat" because of his unusual appearance. The green coloring probably plays into the joke—classic aliens are green, after all.
