Occupation: Member of Vandenreich
Team: Vandenreich
Base of Operations: Vandenreich Base
Luders Friegen is a member of the Vandenreich, best known for his role in the initial invasion of Soul Society.
Appearance
Luders has a striking, asymmetrical look—his hair and eyebrows are dark on the right side and white on the left, falling to his shoulders. Circular marks pattern his face above and below his eyes. He's typically dressed in layered white robes: a longer outer robe worn over a waist-length inner one, complete with a white hood, black face mask, and black epaulettes. A thin black sash cuts diagonally across his waist, and he wears white boots.
Personality
Luders has an audacious streak—he's genuinely unafraid to march into Captain-Commander Yamamoto's chambers and declare war on him. He's arrogant toward fellow Vandenreich members, particularly condescending to Asguiaro Ebern, though he's quick to mock Asguiaro right back if challenged. The contrast is stark when he's around his own leadership: he's completely submissive and respectful to the Vandenreich Leader.
History and Role
Two days before the invasion, Luders scouted the planned route into Seireitei and reported back that Soul Society's balance with the Human World would soon collapse if things continued as they were.
During the opening assault of the Thousand-Year Blood War, Luders led six masked Vandenreich soldiers directly into the Captain-Commander's chamber. They made a brutal entrance, leaving a messenger wounded and bleeding. When Yamamoto demanded answers, Luders delivered the Vandenreich's declaration of war. The Captain-Commander's response—that he himself was Soul Society's greatest defense—only prompted Luders to escalate. After a Vandenreich arrow pierced Lieutenant Sasakibe through the room, Luders told Yamamoto to acknowledge what he'd just witnessed as a preview of his own fate. With characteristic boldness, Luders declared that Soul Society would fall in five days.
