The third prince of Shirone, Zanac's obsession with dolls borders on the pathological—he genuinely struggles to see other people as anything more than animate objects. He's impulsive by nature, prone to acting on whim without much regard for consequences, especially when his interest in collecting dolls is involved.
Everything changed when Rudeus became his teacher. Zanac developed genuine respect for him, maybe even genuine affection in his own way. Under Rudeus's influence, he's slowly learning to recognize other people as actual humans rather than sophisticated toys. It's been a gradual shift, but those close to him have noticed the difference.
