Scizor is a bipedal, insectoid Pokémon with a striking red metallic exoskeleton. Its body is defined by a rounded head with three blunt horns, broad shoulders, and thin segmented arms that end in massive, round pincers—those things alone make up about a third of its total body weight. The pincers have dark eyespots with yellow pupils patterned on them, which gives Scizor an eerie illusion of having multiple heads when it waves them around. Its abdomen is large and rounded with three black chevron stripes down the front, and females tend to have noticeably bigger bellies than males. The legs are lean with prominent hip joints and wide calves, ending in clawed toes. Gray retractable wings with simple curved veins run along its back, and a black teardrop marking sits on its thorax, connected by a thin black neck.
Despite its slim frame, Scizor has tremendous power. Its body and muscles are made of steel-hard metal, and those pincers can crush virtually anything. They function like jaws, opening and closing with incredible force. When threatened, Scizor raises and waves its pincers to intimidate enemies—that three-headed appearance is pure intimidation theater. Once it locks onto an opponent, it uses those pincers to absolutely destroy them. Interestingly, Scizor can't actually fly. Instead, it rapidly flaps its wings to regulate body temperature and keep itself from overheating and melting. It's rarely encountered in the wild, though grasslands are its preferred habitat.
Forms
Scizor can Mega Evolve into Mega Scizor. The transformation dramatically enhances its already fearsome pincers—they lengthen, develop sharp serrations, and the lower half turns white with three-pointed spikes underneath. These serrated barbs are sharp enough to pierce concrete, and anything caught in them is basically trapped. Its eyespots and eyes shift from yellow to blue (with black rims on the spots), and additional black armor plates appear across its body: a three-pointed crest on its forehead and striated coverings on its shoulders and thighs. The legs become simpler, more spike-like with white tips.
The catch is that Mega Scizor can't maintain this form for long. The excess energy from Mega Evolution floods its system, and it loses the ability to properly regulate its temperature. Eventually its body starts to melt, and it won't have the strength to even lift those heavy pincers anymore. While the serrated pincers are capable of shredding anything they grab, Mega Scizor actually prefers just beating things up.
Evolution
Scizor is one of Scyther's final forms. In the Hisui region, Kleavor is the other option.
