Suigetsu Hōzuki is best known as one of Sasuke's most loyal followers, though his path there was anything but straightforward. He was originally an experimental subject under Orochimaru and trained as a member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist—a pedigree that shows in his fighting style and temperament.
The guy's got shark-like teeth and a reputation to match. Kisame Hoshigaki, himself a legendary Seven Swordsmen member, considers Suigetsu a genuine prodigy at killing, with a particularly brutal method: he severs limbs before going for the head. Not exactly subtle. He's arrogant about his abilities too, having threatened even Sasuke more than once. Suigetsu doesn't hold back and does what he wants, which made him and Sasuke butt heads early on. Eventually though, he came around to respecting Sasuke's leadership and has proven willing to take hits for him.
When Suigetsu joined Sasuke's team, Hebi, one of his first priorities was recovering Zabuza Momochi's massive Kubikiri Hōchō from his grave. He wields the thing surprisingly well despite its ridiculous size and weight. There's also speculation—mainly from Karin—that he's hunting for Kisame's sword too, suggesting he wants to collect weapons from all the Seven Swordsmen.
Suigetsu's real edge though is his water-based physiology. He can liquefy his body at will and reform just as easily, even shifting his shape to enlarge his limbs for extra strength when needed. The downside is pretty obvious: solid attacks just pass right through liquid. He was the first ninja seen carrying water bottles as standard gear, and for good reason—he apparently needs regular hydration to keep his watery form stable.
