Kiriko is Kenji's older sister and Kanna's mother. Throughout most of the manga, she only appears in flashbacks, where she comes across as someone with a real sense of justice and a genuine interest in biology. She was basically the main parental figure in Kenji's life growing up—always taking him places, buying him stuff, and being there when he needed support, like when he ended up hospitalized after a motorcycle accident or when she got him that electric guitar he wanted.
