Chaos is the "Second Generation Angeloid, Type Epsilon" and the first major antagonist of the series. Despite being called the most powerful of her generation, she's also the smallest and most childlike Angeloid—barely over three feet tall and weighing just 19 kilograms. She dresses in nun-like robes that can shift their appearance through elaborate illusions, letting her mimic whoever her target cares about most. She used this against Nymph by copying Tomoki's form.
Unlike other Angeloids, Chaos has no wings. Instead, she's equipped with a horrifying array of blade-like appendages that function as weapons. What makes her truly unsettling, though, is her fixation on understanding love. She constantly asks Tomoki, Nymph, Astraea, and Ikaros what love actually is—in ways that come across as deeply creepy. Ikaros tells her that for an Angeloid like her, love feels like pain in the reactor core.
When Chaos first appears, she torments Nymph using her illusions, then takes on Ikaros and Astraea. In their rematches, Ikaros figures out how to see through the deceptions and overpowers her, hurling Chaos into a deep underwater chasm where the water pressure leaves her incapacitated. While trapped down there alone, Chaos reflects on what Ikaros said about love and reaches a horrifying realization: love means pain. She stays in the abyss, eating fish and growing stronger, convinced she's demonstrating her "love" to everyone above.
