Ogawa Heizo is basically a con artist from Shimonoseki who hawks toad oil while pretending to be Himura Battōsai—the legendary swordsman his hometown actually reveres as a hero. Back when the area was still called Choshu Prefecture, Battōsai's name meant something. Heizo's spent years riding on that reputation, claiming to be the real deal when he's really just a washed-up former swordsman looking to make a quick buck.
