Matsuri Oyama is the mother of Mahiro and Mihari. She's been working overseas for the past few years, which made it seem at first like she didn't know what Mihari was up to with Mahiro. Turns out, Mihari had been keeping her in the loop the whole time. When Matsuri came back for a visit, she was totally cool with Mahiro's transformation—the experiment had actually gotten Mahiro to open up and engage with life again after being pretty isolated for a while.
