Shiho's an upbeat, cheerful girl—and she's clearly got a thing for Shikamaru. She blushes deeply whenever he's around, which fans often note is pretty obvious. When Shikamaru leaves to track down additional help with the code, Shiho turns down her boss's offer to head home, refusing to leave before he gets back. She even fixes herself up in the mirror, making sure she looks good for when he returns. She blushes again when Shikamaru agrees to let her walk with him back to Tsunade's office. The cover commentary for chapter 407 doesn't shy away from it either—the text pretty much spells out that Shiho gets excited and nervous around him.
