Albel Nox is an Elicoorian swordsman and captain of the Black Brigade, one of Airyglyph's three military forces. He earned the nickname "Albel the Wicked," and you can spot him by the distinctive gauntlet on his left arm.
He's known as an exceptional katana fighter, and fans often compare his one-on-one combat skills to Duke Vox, the Dragon Brigade's captain. But Albel's past weighs heavily on who he's become.
At fifteen, during his Ascension of the Flame ceremony, Albel failed to bond with the air dragon—he couldn't let go of his own emotions long enough to commune with it. The dragon's fury should have killed him, but his father Glou Nox threw himself in front of the flames instead. His father died, and Albel's left arm was severely burned.
