Sohara is Tomoki's childhood friend and neighbor—she literally lives across the street and makes a habit of showing up at his place most mornings to drag him out of bed. Growing up, she dealt with constant illness and didn't have many people around her because of it, which probably explains why she's so attached to him now.
She's openly in love with Tomoki, though she's terrible at hiding it. The jealousy gets intense whenever he's around the Angeloids, and she tends to express that jealousy through brutal karate chops. Though to be fair, she'll also chop him when he's being a total pervert in front of her—which happens a lot.
