Tsugumi grew up isolated and withdrawn, burdened by a traumatic past that made it hard to connect with others. Her real struggle, though, is the explosive power lurking inside her—literally. When her pulse spikes, she can detonate things remotely, a volatile ability she's never fully managed to control. That lack of control has led to plenty of accidental explosions over the years, which didn't exactly help her make friends or feel less like an outsider to her own family.
Everything started shifting when she wound up at Deava. For the first time, she found actual friends who accepted her—people who didn't treat her like a walking disaster waiting to happen. Her roommate Reika became especially important to her; the affection between them is genuine and one of the few bright spots in Tsugumi's otherwise guarded life. It's the kind of real connection that's starting to pull her out of the shell loneliness built around her.
