Kyouko Inaba is the redheaded, quick-tempered girl of Nube's class—and probably his most devoted student. She's genuinely fond of him, which makes sense given their history: years before the series begins, when Nube was still in college, he saved a young Kyouko from an inari spirit. (Though there are hints they may have crossed paths in a past life.) She's known for being one of the most caring people in the group, constantly looking out for everyone's wellbeing and getting emotionally invested when her friends are in trouble.
That said, cute and innocent is only half the picture. Kyouko's got a serious temper that can push both her classmates and Nube to their limits—though it does mellow out as the series progresses. When Hiroshi joins the class, she initially can't stand him, but eventually develops genuine romantic feelings for him, even if she doesn't fully admit it.
Her closest thing to a best friend is Miki Hosokawa, though calling it a friendship might be generous. The two have a constant love-hate dynamic, with Kyouko frequently needling Miki over her looks—flat chest, big butt, those Sailor Moon-style pigtails. It's petty, but it's also clearly affectionate in its own messy way.
Her name is a nod to the female lead of Dokonjyou Gaeru, where—in a funny bit of parallel casting—that Kyouko is also in love with a guy named Hiroshi.
