Psiren (real name Clara) is a cat burglar operating in Aquroya, a Venice-like city slowly sinking beneath a lake. She commits her crimes publicly, hoping to keep the doomed city vibrant and alive before it vanishes. Her alchemy relies on cards and water, with a transmutation circle tattooed on her chest—a detail she's learned to weaponize, slowly unzipping her shirt to distract opponents before striking. She's considered beautiful and serves as Ed's first major female opponent, a fact made awkward when he accidentally grabbed her breast with his automail hand during a rooftop fight.
Clara's clever enough to exploit Al's earnestness, posing as a nurse, nun, and schoolteacher while claiming to steal from hospitals, convents, and schools. She clearly has a soft spot for Edward, maybe something romantic, and when he finally corners her, she even offers to steal anything he wants. Before parting ways, she tips him off about Xenotime and the Philosopher's Stone. Despite getting arrested afterward, she breaks out within an hour.
