Kouji is the patriarch of a family trio that includes his two sons, Len and Masaki. The three of them worked together before disappearing while scavenging supplies at a mall.
You'd recognize him pretty easily—he's got a distinctive look with round glasses, a notably long white beard, dressed in a blue coat over a white shirt with gloves and brown pants. His personality is hard to miss either. Kouji's loud and assertive, always coming across as smug and fired up about whatever's happening around him.
He's got surprisingly quick reflexes too, which shows up in his ability to dodge an extremely agile cat that was taunting the group. That same agility would've come in handy later, though it couldn't save him from infection. When a pair of cats attacked, Kouji bought time for his sons to escape by holding the creatures off—but ended up getting infected in the process.
