Oboro Mochizuki is a young Japanese idol and actor who's appeared in various TV dramas and films. He received one of the mysterious red Psyren calling cards like everyone else, and tried to expose its secrets on a talk show—only to be struck down live on air by Nemesis Q. He would've died if Elmore Tenjuin and Van hadn't stepped in and saved him.
By his own account, Oboro's pretty self-centered and narcissistic. He tends to look down on people he meets, despite not being particularly bright himself. Even with all the perks that come with being a celebrity, he finds his life boring and unfulfilling, which has made him crave danger and chaos. So when he learned about Psyren and the catastrophic future it represents, most people panicked—but Oboro? His eyes lit up. He was actually interested.
Despite these character flaws, he's developed a PSI ability called Cure that's meant to help others. The catch is, he only uses it to save people who matter to him personally or are useful to him somehow. Ageha holds a special place in that list—Oboro sees him as essential to keeping his life interesting.
