He wasn't always a vampire—Sophia turned him, though he'd already spent years as her caretaker back when she was just a toddler. These days, he holds the rank of Commander of the Fourth Demon Army, but that hasn't changed his core role: he's still taking care of Sophia, pretty much like he always has.
