Mika is a young girl from Megi City on Yellow Rock Isle, where she lives with her older sister Andrea and their father. The family runs a jewelry business based on collecting Corsola horns—basically the entire island's economy depends on it. Their house is literally built on top of a Corsola colony, which makes harvesting the naturally shed horns pretty convenient.
Things went sideways when one hyperactive Corsola showed up and basically scared every other Corsola away from the area. With the colony abandoned, their floating house drifted off with Mika still inside, heading straight into a whirlpool. Ash and his traveling group jumped in to help, and between Bulbasaur and Bayleef, they managed to pull her to safety before things got worse.
Mika's story wrapped up in "A Corsola Caper!" though she did pop up again in a flashback much later.
