Maria comes from House Albert and holds the title of Duke—yeah, an actual Duke, not a Duchess or anything softer than that. What's notable about her isn't the title itself, though, but how she carries it. She's genuinely dignified without being a snob about it. Unlike a lot of nobles you'd expect to find lording their status over everyone beneath them, Maria just. doesn't. She treats the lower aristocracy with actual respect, which apparently makes her stand out enough to be worth mentioning.
