Takechiyo is the young lord of the Mamidaira, a prestigious tanuki clan—and Hachiemon serves under him. A family feud forced him to leave home, so Miroku brought him to Jyūbei's care at Hachiemon's request. These days he works at Shikabaneya, the shop that deals in demon corpses and handles bounty contracts. It's a far cry from his former life as a clan lord, but it seems to suit him.
