Kouta is an acquaintance of Nao's, and a chef. He often drops by to bring her food and ensure she's in good health. He has a crush on Nao and doesn't give up even if she claims not to reciprocate. After Hisako cooks for everyone once, Kouta jokingly declares her his "rival" for Nao's affection.
