Cranberry started out as a soldier in Frieza's army before jumping ship. He was hand-picked by Dodoria and Zarbon to be part of the invasion force sent to Namek from Planet Frieza 79.
Later on, during the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Moro breaks him out and Cranberry becomes his pilot, flying him to New Namek. He sticks around to help Moro hunt down the Namekian Dragon Balls as well.
