Akio
Akio is Todoroki's younger brother. When a ninja clan attacked their home and burned it to the ground, Akio was left barely clinging to life. He was rescued by Gantetsu, a man who made it his mission to save abandoned or dying children in similar situations.
However, Todoroki never learned the truth about his brother's survival. Believing Gantetsu was responsible for Akio's death became a core part of Todoroki's trauma and motivation.
Over time, Akio stepped into a leadership role among the group of kids Gantetsu had taken in—all of them survivors of violence or abandonment, just like him. He essentially became the head of this makeshift family, looking out for the other children under Gantetsu's care.
