Leo is a transfer student at Katta Kirifuda's school. He's pretty much defined by his catchphrase "Ore wa Leo" ("I am Leo")—so much so that his signature card, Codename Orewaleo, is literally named after it.
He was genuinely obsessed with two things: Duel Masters and the YA.RA.SI band. But being a fan wasn't enough for him; Leo wanted to be famous himself. So one day he actually jumped on stage during a YA.RA.SI concert, trying to grab some attention from the crowd. That's when Osamurai Van Osamu spotted him and asked what his deal was. Leo shot back that he was a duelist. Osamu then showed him a copy of Coro Coro magazine featuring Katta as the new Duel Masters world champion—and that's what really got to Leo. He decided right then that he wanted his own shot at fame, but through Duel Masters instead.
