Benten
Benten is a magical human who lives in Kyoto. As a teenager, she was abducted by Akadama-sensei, an elderly tengu, who raised her and taught her tengu ways—most importantly, how to fly. After eventually leaving him, she joined up with the Friday Fellows, a group of tanuki hunters. Her first major catch was Yasaburo's father, which created a complicated emotional situation: she's fallen for Yasaburo, but as part of the group, she knows she's expected to eat him too. The conflict between her feelings for him and her obligations to the Friday Fellows haunts her.
