Izumi Masamune is the story's protagonist and a novelist who writes under the pen name Izumi Masamune. He got his start in middle school after winning a light novel writing contest, which basically launched his whole career. These days, he's best known for his work as an author, though his personal life is probably just as important to him—he's motivated in a lot of ways by wanting to get closer to his younger step-sister.
