An English transfer student who boards with Shinobu and is genuinely obsessed with Japanese culture. Alice is fluent in both English and Japanese, though apparently when Shinobu stayed with her family back in England, the two of them basically just repeated "thank you" and "konnichiwa" at each other the entire time.
She's one of the most sensible people in the group, but that level-headedness goes straight out the window whenever she's trying to impress Shinobu. She'll constantly compete for her attention—even attempting to one-up Karasuma-sensei to prove her English is superior, just so Shinobu will notice. It usually backfires spectacularly, leaving Alice flustered and in some weird situation.
She does get a bit jealous of both Karen (who's always throwing herself at Shinobu) and Karasuma-sensei (who Shinobu genuinely admires), though the series plays this mostly for laughs rather than actual drama. Her petty moments are more endearing than anything.
