Kinue Atago is a second-year student at Himematsu High School in South Osaka. She's best known as a supporting character in Saki and is the younger sister of her teammate Hiroe Atago—the two are genuinely close, with Kinue being pretty openly devoted to her.
Back in middle school, Kinue actually turned down a scholarship to play football as a goalkeeper, deciding instead to follow her sister. Once she got to Himematsu's first year, teammate Kyouko Suehara took her under her wing and pushed her to sharpen her mahjong skills so she could make it onto the main roster alongside Hiroe.
