Barbatos
Barbatos is a warrior whose whole existence revolves around proving he matters. He fought in the War of Heaven and Earth as an equal to the Swordian Dymlos, but Dymlos killed him—and worse, history forgot about him entirely. That's the real wound. He's been brought back by Elraine, tasked with eliminating Stahn and his companions to clear the way for her and the goddess Fortuna to seize power, but his real motivation goes deeper than following orders.
What drives Barbatos is almost entirely negative: he's consumed by a grudge against Dymlos, hungry to test himself against worthy fighters, and desperate for recognition as a legitimate force from that ancient war. He'll seek out strong opponents just to prove he can match them. In combat, he wields an axe and combines brutal physical attacks with magic—he's not someone you want to face unprepared. Fans often note that despite his strength and skill, there's something almost tragic about him; he's fighting for validation that may never come.
